Gray Coralline

Has anyone experienced the growth of Gray Coralline alage.. In my experience, I have seen purple, pink, and green. My current tank has been setup for the past 3 months and I'm noticing gray coralline all over the place.. I'm happy to finally see coralline, but this gray stuff is not attractive.

Don't know about gray but I've got lots of blue spots all over my rocks. Hope they turn purple!

Interesting Guys,

Mike, I see that we both run T5s. Are you carbon dosing as well? I'm trying to find a connection here.

I just noticed grey coralline on my rocks last night.

It was a deep purple until I put a large montipora above it, and it stopped getting light. I dont' know if the grey is due to dying or due to less light.

the irony here is that coralline doesn't grow in the brightest conditions, only on the sides/undersides of my rock, so I dont' know what the deal is.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.. My thoughts are that it probably wants to be purple, but the light from this ATI Powermodule is just too bright.. looking at the spots developing on the back wall of the tank, where there is less light, the spots are purple.
