Question Aquafuge on Biocube 29

I guess this defeats the purpose of an all-in-one system, but I'd like to put a hang-on fuge on the back of my biocube 29. I have heard that CPR is in the process of making one specifically for this tank, but I've had enough with their delays. Would the Aquafuge 2 work? I want to put it behind the tank, hanging on the sump, but I have the CPR skimmer and it would almost just have to come out of the first chamber and be returned to the third chamber. I wouldn't mind drilling the hood, so would this be possible? My alternative would be putting it on the side. Thanks.
