Goby compatibility

On the fish compatibility chart I was using, it says that gobies can be mixed with caution...... so, would yellow coral gobies be ok with a blue neon goby? Thank you!

The gobies that can be mixed with caution are the substrate dwellers. As long as there is enough territory for both, they are fine (and what you think is enough and what they think is may be two different things.) Coral gobies usually live in coral (obviously), SPS coral to be more precise, but they will perch on other things if it is available. The neons would like a hole or two in the live rock to use as a retreat. Neons swim in the open a bit more than a lot of gobies, but they perch on things, too.

One of my 24 gallon Aquapods is a goby tank, and it has housed a green coral goby, a Randall's shrimp goby (a small substrate dwelling goby), and a neon goby without any trouble between the gobys. The Randalls will occassionally approach another fish slowly with its mouth open, and flare his dorsal fin, but no one ever fights. And the neons like to clean the firefish that lives in the tank.
