straight pin socket removal!
How do I remove wires from a straight pin socket? Its driving me nuts. I'm trying to reduce the amount of wire from a ballast to the socket in my nano

There is a tool you will need. Some are made of plastic, some are metal with a plastic tip. Go to an electrical supply store. It will have to be more of an all electrical accesories type of store. Take a pic of connector if possible. I believe there are certain size differences in the tools, pending on the size of your wire.

I just use an awl - poke it in next to where the wire goes in and it will loosen the connector. (unplug the lights first! LOL)

Why don't you post up a pic of the connector? Basically, it sounds like you need a pin extractor. There are different sizes for different pin sizes but I believe you can get them at Radio Shack or similar stores.

okay i figured it out. inside the hole where the wires are coming from the razor pops up to hold the wire, you have to stick a paperclip to push the razor down at the same you pull the wire out
