Eheim problem, need help
I just got an Eheim Pro3 350 and hooked it up to my tank. About every 3 or 4 minutes it shoots a bunch of air into the tank. Is this normal for a new setup or did I do something wrong? So what should I do about it?

Sounds like their is trapped air in the canister unplug and recheck all packing and no locks of air should be present shake the canister while running to express any possible air locks

Either its trapped air or its sucking air. If it was trapped air and your seals were good I would assume it would stop once all the trapped air is expelled. This appears to lean more towards it sucking air from outside the canister. I would open every seal or connection that could possibly allow it to suck air. Yes, it is possible to be sucking air from outside yet not be leaking water. Check all seal and O rings. With o rings it is important to lightly wet them with tank water before tightening any connections. Make sure the o rings are not rolled or pinched. Also any pin holes in a hose could cause it to suck air....unlikely but possible.
