CaRx Keeps plugging up? Advice?

I have a Geo 818 on my 450 gallon system. I have a us plastics 1/4" gate valve on the drip to help control the rate. However, at least once a day, the thing stops dripping. I have to open the valve and a TON of air (to the point that you can hear it coming out) exits the drip line. Once a stream on water comes through, i dial it back down to the normal drip... Does anyone have an answer for this?

Ryan,

What I did was extend a piece of tubing inside the reactor. Basically at the top where the exit plug is flush put a piece of tubing (just found something that fit) that extends into the chamber (about and 1" or so). That way the bubbles that collect at the top of the reactor wont get into the exit tube.

What a great basic idea!

Thanks,
I'll do it right now!

well i went to do it, and on mine, there is a 1/2" union right there. Is that what you added a piece to?

How long has it been setup? Is this just the initial gas purge or has it been running for a while? It sounds like you're adding CO2 too fast to the chamber if you're getting a large buildup of gas inside the calcium reactor.

Yes, just basically shoved a piece of plastic tubing up there, I will see if I can take pic tonight and post.
