battle of corals?
hi everyone,
i have added some new corals into my tank last weekend. everything looks good except 2 things. first is my leather coral, it has not been too happy since the addition, its closed up most of the time or just open partially. second, my new open brain coral ( a trachyphyllia) has some haired fine tenctacles come out all the time. next to it is a lobophyllia. should i be concered? thanks.

the haired tentacles on the lobo are feeders... perfectly normal. give the leather some time.

Leathers are finiky but hardy. They close up for no reason at all and then out of nowwhere are open. Its normal for corals once added to not open for a few days fully until they adjust to not only your water conditions but your lighting.
I agree. Those tentacles are feeding tentalces. When you see those out go and get some mysis or whatever you feed your corals and place the food near the tentacles. |
