noob question
This is going to sound really stupid but want to make sure I am right. For replenishing evaporated water you use RO/DI water. But when you do a water change you use prepared salt mix.
Thanks, Brian |

that is correct! salinity will not change thru evaporation, only water removed from the tank, i.e. filling frag bags, etc.

I think susan may have misspoke but evaporation of water raises the salinity so you want to add ro/di to try to maintain that level. If you top off with more saltwater eventually you'll see the salinity of the tank go up

I agree. Use only ro water etc to replace what has evaporated. Salt doesnt evaporate, so when you have 4 gallons evaporate the salinity in the tank goes up. When your doing water make sure to replace only what you took out.
