reef tank photoperiod

i have a reef tank with sps, lps, and fish.

i have the halides on from 8pm-8am because its too hot in my area in the summer to have them on during the day.

my question is would the day time light in my house (not direct sunlight) cause any problems to the tank inhabitants and the coral. because they will be having about 24 hours of lighting, would there be a problem with this?

Get some supplemental T5s and gradually reduce your mh use to about 5 hours a day. This will greatly reduce the heat. I would run my mhs from 5 pm until 10pm (or later, whatever works), and t5s/leds before and after.
