To overdrive or not to overdrive?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats the question. Going with a 5 bulb T5 set up, 6 if I can fit all of them and leave room for moon lights. Found a good deal on a 430 and 660 IC ballast, but can get (3) Triad normal output ballast for the same price new. Being as the tank is only 17" tall I'm thinking that overdriving them might be too much.

The reason I switched to T5 lights is the long bulb life and lower heat.
When you overdrive the bulbs you shorten the life, burn up the end caps and run your chiller more often. If you need more light add another non-overdriven bulb. R |

Thank you for the reply. With the 5 I think I might be at max bulb wise. Should be good enough though.
