Will Stainless steel effect my corals if in water?

I have a spectra pure float valve that is made out of stainless steel. I was trying to adjust my sump height to 7 inches and the only way is to have the stainless steel submerged just under the surface of the water. You think this is ok? I don't want it to effect my corals.

Yea should be fine, as long as it hasn't been coated with any chemicals.

Nah it's been in my tank for a year or so. Come to think of it, most pumps have stainless steel for their prop shafts. Yeah I think I'm fine.

Like everyone else said, it won't be a problem, but stainless steel will eventually rust so just keep an eye on that. We are talking years for that to happen though.
