newbie here, 65 gallon build...any pointers on this?

I came across a 65 gallon tank that has a skimmer and lights already and most of the stuff I need..In theroy...iam going to start trying to set it up here in the next few weeks...tank is reef ready..not sure on alot of the details will no more tonight.after I get it home..

its coming with a 10 gallon sump..but i will look further into how big of a tank i can fit under it.

that will be the first thing I do..i have other tanks already and this is pretty much a qt tank/frag tank i will be playing with..has a nice t-5/halide combo lid with it...so can grow all the good stuff too..

just take it slow and don't rush, good start. You need a good sump and return pump.

yea the tank came with a mag 18...way way to big for a single output tank...it came with a 10 gal sump i think iam going to see about a 20 gal long...i dont think 10 will be big enough..

If there is a center brace on this tank, I would reinforce it somehow before filling with water. I had a center brace crack on mine.

Your right the mag 18 is way too big for that tank, and definitely a bigger sump is a great idea.
