Before and After
So I switched my fishtanks and moved them into the "fish room" which I just painted ocean blue. I did two coats of ocean blue on the walls and three coats of white on the ceiling. I had to do quite a bit of repairs, filling and sanding. Then I used Behr Premium Plus interior enamel eggshell finish which is awesome paint. Painting is a lot of work but the results are so worth it. Also when switching the tanks, I cleaned everything so it was a whole weekend just on the tank switch. I switched the fresh to salt and salt to fresh.
Here is the 40 breeder before: Here is the 40 breeder after: Here is the oceanic 70 gallon hex before: And after in the "fish room": Here is the helicopter flying bay: |

Well, the sump being in the stand under the 40 breeder was starting to affect the wood. Since I got that tank for high school graduation in 1984 is has a lot of sentimental value to me so I was concerned about the long term feasibility of having the sump underneath it. Plus the hexagon holds more water and has more floor space.
I did switch the lights also since the salt uses 14k and the fresh uses 10k bulb. |

That's a huge effort to complete the entire project and well worth it for sure. Some moss or java fern in the fresh tank would look great! And I really dig the hex tank. There is tons of room in there for hardscape and corals.
