weird scoly question

hey guys,
got a strange scoly question for you all.
i unfortunately have been still dealing with a tank crash a little while ago. one of the last corals that i thought had died was my favorite scoly. everything seemed to be improving, but some of the corals just couldnt tolerate it anymore.

the scoly "ejected" the polyp (or flesh part) away from the skeleton about a week ago.

tonight i came home from work and found the flesh part was floating around my tank and had been stuck behind a rock. it looked totally fine and even the tentacles were out.

so...... is there anything I can do? can they regenerate a skeleton? i still have the one that it ejected from, can I glue it back on? suggestions?

that's called polyp bail-out. Usually happens when water quality goes severely down the tubes. I've seen it happen once with brain coral and it didn't survive, but I suppose if the polyp was moved to ideal water/light conditions in low current it could start regenerating a skeleton again. Definitely don't try gluing it.
