diamond hole saws are available on ebay. buy ones in the size to match the hole size for whatever kind of bulkheads you buy.
but the thing you really need to make sure is that whatever pane you want to drill isn't tempered. Some tanks have tempered bottoms. |

Buy or borrow a good diamond hole saw bit, keep it wet and go real slow. Starting the whole is the hardest, after that, it just takes time. I pretty much just use the weight of the drill and go at a slow speed so the bit is grinding into the glass. Are you going through the bottom or back? If bottom be carful cuz it's probably tempered and that will shatter in a flash!

Thx guys... I should be just drilling the back, its easier and safer I guess, on a 120g should I make 3 holes or 2? Or even 5 with the return..

as far as how many holes it depends on what yo plan to do.. there are so many differant ways that you could set it up... are you going to have the returns over the top, are you soing a closed loop, these are some of the questions you should figure out before you start to drill!
