it depends do u want it live or dead?

if dead dry it out in the sun for a couple of days and put it a rubber maid containor

if u want to keep it alive i would
1 buy containor
2 clean containor
3 fill with old tank water or aged saltwater
4 add a header
5 add a large pump to push water or a couple power heads
6 put a lid on it

you will lose the coraline and other colorful alages if ther is no light may want to think about that. make soure u have a nice lid or else topoff will be a pain. hopw this helps

If your only taking a few months, I would get the container listed above and keep a light on the rock.

No need to keep them under light. A power head for aeration and a skimmer to prevent ammonia build up from decaying matter. JMO
