What RO/DI Unit Should I Buy?
Ok, this should be the last question. What brand RO/DI unit should I buy? I think (please correct me if I am wrong) a 4 stage unit should be good. Also, are the filter replacement parts on a unit universal, or would I need to buy the replacement filters from the same brand that the unit is made buy? Thanks again!

What you purchase should have much to do with how clean / pure your water is.
For a reef system with corals, A 5 stage would be the minimum without any other knowledge. There are several vendors in the vendor section of the forums. Buckeyefieldsupply, TheFilterGuys and AirWaterIce are all good reputable vendors. Replacement parts are "generally" interchangable. The volume rating should be adhered to for the unit and RO Membrane.

Buy either buckeyefieldsupply.com
or airwaterice.com or thefilterguys.biz. All are sponsors on reef central and all are universal filters so you can buy them anywhere. These units are also at or under $200 |

There are a few to choose from and the sponsor list above is good.
I have an Air, Water & Ice unit, zero issues, fast shipping.

I just got one from bulkreefsupply and I love it. Got the 6 stage. Easy setup and operation. No more trips just to lug water around. Now my trips to the store is all about me.

I just got one from thefilterguys and love it. I had first bought one off Ebay from purewaterclub.com. It was rated at 150GPD. It put out about 20GPD. Sent it back cause I was tired of there crappy customer service. My new one puts out exactly what it's supposed to, 75GPD.

Sorry to tag onto this thread but I have a quick question and it's closely related.
If I were to say have a WHRO would it then be feasible (as long as the TDS read 0 of course) to just run it through a deionizer? Eleminating the need for a interior RO system? Thanks in advance |
