cleaner shrimp enemy?

I just added my first cleaner shrimp and was wondering if my pepermint shrimp will attack him? Seemed like I saw him try to go after him twice today, not sure exactly?

any idea?

In my 10 gallon I have a cleaner shrimp, two peppermints, and a variety of snails and two small fish. My params are very stable and there seems to be no signs of crowding or stress. That being said, my peppermints and cleaner shrimp get along dandy. I have never seen them fight for food nor have I ever seen them even near one another. I guess you could call it respect. The peppermints also did an amazing job destroying the aiptasia in my tank.

I'm amazed you even see your pepp shrimp. It seems I can only catch mine with a flashlight at night.

I've seen people on here say that their peppermint killed a cleaner, but it is pretty rare as far as I know. It also usually involves the peppermint being quite large and the cleaner being much smaller. As long as they have food and enough room they should be fine.

So if I get new cleaner it'd be up against a decent size peppermint (w 2 smaller pepps) and a small pistol shrimp....what are the odds?

My peppermint and cleaner shrimps got along with some hostility. Having a larger tank probably helps, allowing each a territory.

Peppermint shrimp will "clean" fish, in my experience. Not a problem.
