I would love to extend my MR-2.
But damn their extensions are high priced. Is that an after market piece or MRC's

I was lucky to scoop this up off the for sale forum here on RC It apears to be made by someone other than MRC but it bolted right up and as you can see is working well. The only ones I saw from MRC were 12" and this one is 24".

Yea, 12" is largest I've seen.
24" is BAD AZZ! What pump are you using? What pump were you using? Thanx.

I am also researching the MRC skimmers and am considering buying a 2R. I asked them about the extensions and they said they are $130 but did not say how long they are. After looking at the design, it looks like the piece should easily be DIYed- although I have no experience with it. I was thinking of getting the 2R and looking for a DIY extension, I think I found a place that could make it- Acrylic cylinder with key hole flange on both ends.
How do you like the 2Rs????? How quiet are they?? and what pump are you using after the upgrade?? I have not had too much luck finding people with them and who can reliably answer those questions. I am not sure as to how good of a skimmer they actually are since I have not found too many reviews or people with them.

I love mine, It's a BEAST.
I am running Iwaki MD-70RLT. Noise is not a problem at all. Ther is a MRC owners thread on here, pages and pages of info.
