Cree XR-E Q5 Cool White Star PCB Mounted
Cree XR-E Royal Blue Star PCB Mounted

These are the 3W bulbs I used for my retrofit on a 29 Gal Biocube

if your trying to duplicate 250-400w of mh, expect to pay upwards of $5000. led just is not realistic for big tanks that want high output. unless you have the money that is.

led is great for all in one and small tanks, but your best bet is to supplement led with other lights like mh and t5's. my tanks is 30x12x23" and i have a retro fixture with 3 cree xr-e q5 cool whites and 4 cree xr-e royal blues plus 20 5mm blue led's and its great for lighting up my tank but i still use mh for growth

I just purchased the Ecolight KR-93 for my 3 foot tank. I had some SPS coral frags that I thought were dead or dying under my old lights. In the week I have had the KR-92, it has brought out polps where there were none and my frag that still was hanging on is fully extented and is thick and fuzzy looking. I had planned on posting pictures but my camera will not focus that close to really show the corals in detail. The PAR is brighter than a 250 but not near the 400w MH. The build quality is outstanding!! I am very pleased with my purchase (but then a gain it is only 1 week). If the light can bring back these frags and grow them I will be impressed, since some of the frags looked dead.

Thanks leftcostreefer, understand but If buy a 400W LED with 1:1 white and blue LED,will this match the PAR of a couple of 250W or 400W

The KR-92 maybe too strong for you 50cm deep tank. It is better to have KR-91. for your shallow tank.

That sounds really neat but overkill unless it triggers breading and serious coral growth. How much is a animal like you described?
