Good Golly Molly, what did I catch this morning?
Woke up and shined a light in my 75 to find a brownish (with beige "leopard" spots all over it) flat (i mean extremely thin) about 3" long 1" wide thing moving slowly over my sand...was able to catch it and have it in a glass for the moment. Don't know if its good or bad...but it certainly is ugly. Picture to come shortly

Hard to tell from the picture. Is it round or flat?

I believe peanut worms are typically tubular.
I'll shut up now and let one of the smart people identify it. |

I goggled flatworm and it looks like that is exactly what it is...now to figure out how it got in my tank...wow...beautiful and disgusting at the same time. Interesting "username" it was right next to an overturned turbo snail when I found it this morning.
Glad I enjoy shining a light in the tank in the mornings to see whats crawling around...so I'm assuming I need to eject this thing from anywhere near my tank

Take it to the LFS... they will dump it into the live rock bin & the cycle continues. Ha!

The strange thing is that I haven't added any live rock since I started my tank 8 months ago...not sure how it entered my tank.

on the live rock. THey are hard to find or spot when you are looking right at them. I thought I had gotten rid of all of them and when I was moving a piece of rock last week I found 2 more on the bottom. Good luck.

I threw mine in the sump. He might be able to flatten out, but I doubt he can pass through the return pump. As it is, I didn't see him when I cleaned out the sump a few months back. Mine was very similar to yours and came in on my TBS rock. Never caused any trouble, but they are pretty much esclusively predators.

I'd be careful putting it in the sump, if it does go through the return pump, even if it gets chopped up, flatworms have amazing regenerative powers and it could regrow from pieces.

Here's mine. (thread with some pics, and a couple of related links) No happy ending to this story. (I reccently found about a dozen more of them during some invasive tank maintence.
