Oyster Feast

For those of you that feed your tank Oyster Feast by Reef Nutrition how are you doing it. I was advised to turn the skimmer off for 4 hours, feed as soon as the skimmer is off. Do you target feed this or do you need to mix the 2 teaspoons in some tank water then pour in a high flow area? Should I be feeding the Roti Feast as well or just stick to one then switch out. I am feeding a 75 gallon tank with about 10 frags of SPS.

for transparancy sake, I work for Reef Nutrition

Oyster-Feast will knock down the "head" in the skimmer, no need to turn it off. I broadcast feed right in front of my Tunze. I'd feed both RF and OF. You could feed half doses of each if you don't have a lot of corals & inverts that would eat it.

edit: I just caught you have only 10 frags. I'd feed like 1/4 tsp dose and every other day or so. You don't have that much to feed. As they grow, simply up you dose I'd also skip the Roti-Feast for now.

I have a 58 gallon which is pretty well stocked with a mixture of LPS/SPS. A few days ago, I picked up some OF from my LFS. I fed 1 tsp after turning my return and skimmer off, leaving only my vortech running. The corals seemed to love the stuff and showed great PE.
My question is: Has anybody experienced cloudy water as a result of feeding OF? I switched my return back on after about 30 min, then turned my skimmer back on after a couple hours. The skimmer didn't produce much skimmate for several hours afterwards, but I gather this is normal after reading through a few other threads regarding the product.
Of course, the cloudy water could be due to many other reasons, but feeding the OF was the only thing that was different from my 'normal' routine so my thought is that it may have something to due with it.

BTW, the expiration date on the bottle is 4/24/10.

I leave everything running and dose the recommended amount in front of a Koralia 4 for distribution. I get amazing PE from all of the corals!

Yes, it is does get cloudy. Anytime I feed the OF to my tank .. it gets cloudy. I don't turn anything off, I just dose it and let it go... now let me correct myself. I turn off the skimmer for like 30 mins, then that's it. I get some great PE on all of my corals and I feed half right in front of my K3 and the other half in front of my MP10. I feed 3ml to my tank, as I have a 40gal breeder.

Thanks for the replies. I have decided to keep the skimmer on. The pump is going crazy with all the on and off's, and it is a real PIA to get the thing skimming again.
