Seen a Green coraline covered tank?

Hi, Most tanks I've seen are either fully covered on purple coraline or red coraline, and I've seen green ooraline but it never seems to thrive and it always gets overun by other coraline.

So I'm curious to see if anybody has a green coraline algae covered tank.

My lfs has a yellow coraline but it won't grow in the direct light. I have some light green coraline but it hasn't taken a strong foothold.

I haven't seen a tank covered in green coraline. I would suspect it has limitations that would keep it from competing with the purple.

I just had a recent growth of green coraline all over the back wall. It came in on some rocks that are in the sump, but it doesn't seem to be any more or less dominant.

I wonder what would happen if you create a tank with dead rock, and suddenly add a piece of green coraline, would it thrive in the abscence of other coraline? or they just can't thrive for long?

I have some bright yellow and bright green coralline. The yellow is out of the direct light but the green is starting to appear on the back wall. I even have some black growing on the underside of some rocks. None are dominating the typical pink/purple.

The pink/purple survive best under the lighting whereas the other colors (yellow, green, dark reds) all seem to grow in absence of light or in lower light conditions. I'd be surprised to ever see a tank completely covered in a light colored algae.

Funny you mention this! I upgrade my light on my 60g cube to a 250w (from T-5's) and all of the sudden green coralline started COVERING the acrylic. I will say that the green coralline is much easier to scrape than the purple/pink variety so I dont mind all that much.

I would love to see some pics of this coraline. BTW when I said purple and red as the best thrivers instead of red I'm meaning pink, because I remember now that I've seen the red one too, and it is beautiful and also doesn't thrive, and it is 100% red and not pink, pink is the most common I think and it always thrives in any tank.

Ive got what I thought was green coraline in a couple spots lower down in my tank. It had the same growing patterns as the purple stuff but my turbo snail was able to eat it so I figured it was something else.

my first tank (started mostly with base rock) had tons of it. When I started this tank the purple overtook it in most ares except where there was very little light. I agree it is easier to get off the glass.
