Aquamedic Biotherm Heater giving outrageous readings. Please Help!

Hello,
I have an 300 watt Aquamedic Biotherm heater and controller. The heater will not turn on because it thinks that the temperature of the tank is 138 F when it is really 72 F. Is there anyway of resetting these heater or recalibrating them? I've been trying to find things all morning and have had no luck. I've had this heater for about a little more than a year. Why would it be doing this?
Thanks!

I just called Aqua Medic, no way to reset it. They will give me a new product though, but I need the receipt, and I don't have it
