Acrylic/Rimless/External Overflow Questions
I have only dealt with glass tanks and wanted to get some input, experiences and opinions on the topics in the title.
These questions are pertaining to a frag tank that will be set up next to my display. It will be plumbed into my display tank. The tank size will either be 20 x 20 x 15 or 10 inches tall if I go acrylic. It will be built by a reputable acrylic company. Have you had success with an acrylic rimless aquarium? I would be concerned about bowing but I am not real familiar with acrylic tanks. The 15 inch tall tank that I am considering is 1/2" acrylic. The 10 inch tank is 3/8". My concern is bowing and the price is comparable to a custom glass tank. What have been your experiences with external overflow? I have always been against them due to a friend's experience when I first got into the hobby. Thank you for your input and experiences. |

Whats wrong with an external overflow? It's identical to an internal... just outside the aquarium.
