Maxi Jet Submersible Pump
Has anyone used these? I'm thinking of using an 1100 as a return pump for my upcoming project. (45 gallon cube, 24 x 24 x 18).
Budget is a huge concern here, so I'd rather use this pump than an Eheim (which I've used before, and liked, but they cost $100). For clarification, here's the link: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pcatid=18989 Would the 1100 be enough? It's about 300 gph. There will be about 3-4 feet of head. Thanks in advance!

Sorry I bought the 400, it seems like a good pump, good feel to it, well built. What kind of overflow do you have?

I've the 1700 lph version (about 400 gph) on my 40 gallon tank (20G DT+20G sump), however I had to turn the output flow to minimum (about 1000 lph or 250 gph) or the flow is too much for the overflow box to handle.
Overall I love this pump, packing enough power for all my needs, minimal operation noise / vibration / heat generation, good craftsmanship and solid build. |

I just bought the Model 3000 for my upcoming 57+20G system, I've heard good things about them. We'll see I guess!
PS- The 1100 will definatly be enough. The fact that you can turn the dial to reduce it is a huge plus as well!

Thanks for the responses everyone. Sounds like ill be going with the 1800 especially because its controllable. The tank is reef ready so I'm not sure about the gph yet, but I'm sure I can strike a balance.
If you turn it down the pump uses less watts, correct?

No first hand experience but I've heard they are quiet. I like the fact that they come with suction cups tov reduce vibration as well
