Problem with Deltec MC600 Skimmer

I have been running a deltec MC600, that I bought used, for several months now on my 55 gallon. I have three problems with it.

First of all, it is giving off a lot of tiny bubbles and sometimes a few bigger ones even though I am using the diffuser that it came with (the clear plastic triangle "lip"). Why is it doing this and is there a way to fix it?

Secondly, it has started to make some noise and from reading around I learned that this means that the rubber bushings in the pump have worn out. Does anyone know where to get them (or a sound dampening kit) in Canada. I tried contacting a dealers and deltec itself but have gotten no response.

Lastly, I have noticed that over a week I barely collect anything in the collection cup. The sludge is just around the edges and there is just a bit of dirty water in the collection cup. I have a pretty small bioload (3 fish, some snails and shrimp) and I tried moving the cup up and down but didnt see much of a change. Is the skimmer working properly?

Thanks for the help!

Did you try turning the red/orange knob that is protruding out the middle of the skimmer just to the side of the collection cup? Turn it so that it is more parallel to the tube to allow more air in and produce more bubbles.

For Deltec parts/service in Canada, Xenia Inc. is the place. http://www.xeniainc.com/

When was the last time you gave the pump a good clean? Running a drillbit (hand held not drill powered) through the venturi will clean out any deposits.

You may wish to try the Deltec forum as well. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=561. You'll certainly get some help there.
