Zooanthid Polyps loose?
I have some zooanthid polyps (single and small group) that have broken free from their colony and are floating around.
Anyone ever dealt with this? Do I net them and discard? Glue to some base rock? |

The small group, you can rubberband to a piece of rock and it will attach as it grows. I've never had much luck with single polyps.

I had single polyps break away and when/if I can catch them I super glue them to a frag plug and let them grow out. sometimes they don't make it but most times they do.

I have singular polyps come free from time to time, but haven't ever gotten them to take hold of anything no matter how much glue I use. I just let them blow around the tank and I figure they find thier own place to land eventually.

Whatever brand of superglue gel came with my frag kit. I'm not sure of the name, but I ran out of it a while back and have just been using up some other glue gels that were laying around. I usually get mine from the dollar store. They are always so slimey that the glue never seems to take hold unless I completely glue the crap out of it. When it get's to that point, I'd rather just let it find it's own place. All the little polyps, or mushrooms, or Kenya Tree branches that float around usually end up in the same front corner of the tank and have been growing together on the same rock.

HAHAHA!!!! I guess I could try that. I was told it was all the same. The $ store brand works good for SPS and LPS, but the Zoas are just to slippery and slimey for mounting with that glue.
