Help with MSX skimmer?

I have an MSX 200 skimmer on a 75 gallon tank. The skimmer keeps collecting water to the point where the skimmer cup is almost full in about day, and its clear water with a brown tint. How do I set it to make it skim a little dry? I had it there once, but lost it adjusting the height of the bubbles. Is there a tool I can use to figure out where its peak performance is?

Thanks.

Turn your tube down to where the bubbles start breaking at the neck of the skimmer. It might take a little while to dial it in. What height is your skimmer at?

Well my water level it is sitting in is at 10 inches. IF youre asking about the height of the skimmer, its just the regular height of an msx 200.

Adjust that wedge pipe to more "Open" position.

yes open the wedge pipe to drop the water level inside the skimmer. 10" is a little deep, mine seems to work best in 8"

You mean 8 inches inside the cylinder, or 8 inches out side?

He probably means 8" My water level is where the T is. I can turn the elbow 90 degrees and it's halfway with the water level if you know what I mean.

Follow the suggestion minhvu said.

Yeah I did that last night and now I am seeing some black skimmate coming into the cup and it is going at a slower pace again. The cup isnt filling up after a day.

Thanks.
