mod to skimmer questions

i have a aqua c EV 120 and was wondering how you could mod it to make it better? i guess my real question is how does adding a stronger pump to your skimmer help? and how do you know how strong a pump you can put on?
sorry if this is a stupid question

Not stupid. You may find more help in the equipment forum for skimmer mods. Stronger is not always the fix, you want to increase the foaming by adding more air to the mix. Try poking around in the DIY threads, there's a ton of info on skimmers and mods.

AquaC is spray inject so adding more air to the mix won't help. I own one and I have yet to come across and good mods besides adding a piece of tubing at the outlet to make it quieter. The skimmer is well build as it is. Mine didn't start working very well for me until I started keeping it religiously clean. Take it apart, spray it out with those hose and see if you notice a change.

There is a large trend with "making skimmers better". Before I say more, is your skimmer not meeting your expectations? In other words, is it not skimming as well as you think it should or need it to?

it skims ok. this was just was just a question that came up when i wanted to raise the skimmer in the sump which would increase the head on the pump and was wondering if we could change the pump to meet the skimmer demand.

Mesh mod the wheel to have a better flow of more uniform bubbles.
