Question How to Keep Fish out of Overflow

I've been keeping all kinds of fish for years now, but have never had a fish decide to swim into my overflow... until today (or last night).

He looks pretty stressed (breathing hard) and is now hiding somewhere in the rockwork, but is there a way that I can keep him from doing it again???

Thanks in advance for the help.

Chad

My new Randall's goby somehow decided that the overflow was safer than the rockwork (and he's the only fish in their right now).

Anyways, thanks for the replies... I already had it covered (more to deafen the overflow noise than anything), but just got back from the home supply store with the gutter guard (attached it with some zip ties). Now if the goby STILL somehow gets in their, he deserves to die.

***Fish Update***

Even though he seemed pretty stressed out when I removed him from the overflow, he seems like he is doing fine right now and has started eating.

Thanks again everyone for your responses!
