Skimmer? For 12gal

Hey there I have a 12 gal aquapod and it came with a fission style skimmer that I never saw anything from. Was wondering what all people have done instead of the stock skimmer. I saw a small skimmer on marinedepot before but not sure if I can make it work any input would be good. Or I might try going skimmerless.

No skimmer.
Water-changes only.

I run Sapphire Aquatics nano skimmers on my 14g nanos, but if you can be diligent in your weekly water changes of 10-20% than you can definitely save the $$$ and go skimmerless without any problems...

Skimmers for those types of tank are generally pretty bad in performance and build quality. Water changes are much more effective.
