Cant find my watchmen goby

I added a watchmen goby to my tank early Saturday. Acclimated him, added a cup of water to the bag at a time...and then put him in the tank and he immediately bolted for a crevice under my LR. Problem is that I dont see him and I haven't seen him in 48 hrs. Hope he's ok. How long until he comes out to feed? or say hello?

It took over a week for my YWG to really start getting comfortable and coming out to play. Now he comes right out to the glass and watches us.

What other fish are in there with him? IF there is a bigger fast type fish in there with him he might be a little chicken. I rarely see my Randall's Goby since adding a Domino to my tank, even though the domino doesn't actually chase the goby.

Mine goes into hiding every few days. Shows up when he's ready to eat. Has he been out yet?

My Randall's goby would hide in his cave all day and come out when he was ready to eat, then I added a Red Banded Pistol shrimp and now my goby is always standing guard at the cave entrance and got a sudden boost of confidence (he thinks he is tough now).

Funny you mention this. I do have a tiger pistol shrimp and they were a pair when I bought them but the YWG hid for a little while and was shy at first as was the pistol shrimp. They both eventually got more comfortable and started coming out more and the pistol had dug tunnels all over the place under the rocks.

Just tonight I just noticed the YWG actually starting to defend their holes. He was rushing at fish that were getting to close and head butting them. First time I've seen him do that. He's a small sliver of a fish to (less then 2in) and going up against all the bigger fish (3-4in) that would come close. Funny thing is the other fish just kind of shrugged it off like a little nat was hitting them and kept on swimming by like nothing happened.

Yesterday, I still had not had a glimpse of my YWG that I added on Saturday. So I lifted the LR under which he hid....and who comes swimming out as I was lifting the rock, yes the goby. He hid under another rock. I guess it'll just take time. I'm so impatient though! Everyone should start making bets, when will my YWG start coming out!
