what to do with trimmed grape caulerpa and chaeto

well in my fuge i have grape caulerpa and some chaeto. i should probably trim it soon cause its getting thick but im not too sure what to do with the trimmings. should i just throw them in the trash? i dont have an algae eater (tang, rabbitfish, etc.) otherwise id feed them that. any ideas?

Either find a local clun or other hobbiests to donate it to or trade with. I have a LFS around my town that takes cheato in from people. They sell it for 5 dollars a handful and pay 2 dollars a hand full to a few different aquarist in town. You may get more for it if you are willing to take store credit for it.

I would get rid of the caulerpa asap as it can cause a ton of problems and can overrun your tank in no time. As far as the cheato goes, if you can't give it away just toss it.

heat oil in pan till hot, sprinkle 1 tsp of instant ocean and add 1tsp 2 part additive, add chaeto, simmer for 2min, add grape calupera, simmer 5 min. Server with a few krill on top to taste.

Do not do anything with the caulerpa that could cause it to be introduced to the wild. There have been serious ecological problems caused by people letting their caulerpa get into the wild as it becomes invasive.

maybe you could dry it and use it as mulch?

im sure there are plenty of us in AK that would take the cheato off your hands. Sometimes that stuff is hard to find up here. I just bought a good sized ball for my sump about 3 weeks ago.

Do not allow the caulerpa to get into the alaskan environment do not be the guy that ruined your local ecosystem.

I suggest you kill the caulerpa, with fire.
