first time corner flow, stop gurggle please
i have a 90g left corner flow with a mag 9.5 ball valved. single drain return. anyway i started it up today and no leaks, YEAH. but water builds up on the drain side then flushes down, cant stand the noise
please help. perfecto aquarium i think |

you need two 90* elbows put together with a hole drilled in the one directly over the drain pipe with a piece of air line tube about 6 inches long stuck in it it makes it a lot less noisy (if that makes sense !)

Slowly drill the top hole. make it bigger and bigger until the drain matches the return pump flow. otherwise it will still gurgle

stick 1/4" air line tubing in there - that'll fix it.

k. does anyone have a good pic of what i need to do? it looks like all i have to do is put a T connector where the elbow goes. is that correct? where is the hole i have to drill?

Tex got it right, although there are other options, the durso is by far the easiest. When I went to make mine DIY I found that it wasn't much more to just buy the complete setup so that's what I did. It will get rid of that toilet flushing sound.

the easiest is to just insert airline tubing down the drain pipe.and leaving some out the top.

yup thanks guys totally worked, had to drill 4 small holes but it eventually worked , i do like the airline tubing idea with the vavle to control the amount of air,
