High Nitrates Corals Look Great?
After returning home from a business trip my nitrates tested at 20. All of the corals look great with full polyp extension. I was gone two weeks and its been three since my last water change. Should I go ahead and do a water change? Tank is a 29g with LPS and softies.

Well, I would do a water change. LPS and softies are more tolerant of high trates than sps. You may be on the brink of seeing some negative signs if you dont get them down.

Lots of people run nitrates in the 10 -20 range all the time and just live with it.. You should be ok and just do a couple water changes over the next week or so til you get the numbers your accustomed to.. Good Luck..

Thanks for the replies. I recently moved my SPS over to a new tank and wasnt sure if I still needed to keep the nitrates down.

Being that your back home, do your normal water changes, maybe a little extra, and you will get back to 0 soon.
