ID of this Centipede Looking Thing

Any ideas as to what this little critter is? Any danger in a mixed reef with SPS and LPS?

It looks like a bristle worm to me. A harmless detrivore, and quite beneficial to a reef tank.

Defiantly a Bristle worm. You can consider it part of your clean up crew. They will eat dead fish / and left over food. They can get pretty long tho. Just make sure you don't touch them with bare hands. Their Bristles will break off in your skin, kind of like a bee sting.

+1 for bristle worm. If they irritate your skin with their "barbs" when touching them, vinegar helps to neutralize the sting, as well as hot water.

Their population is also directly effected by how much you are feeding the tank. If you are seeing an explosion of them, you may be feeding too much.

I always found them to be a welcome part of the clean up crew as well.

Thank you for the feedback all! It is the only one I have ever seen and actually found it in my sump on a frag plug.....feel bad now as I ended up flushing it down the sink.

dont feel bad, there are probably lots more in there that you dont even know about as they usually come out at night (from what i have read and been told) and they do get pretty big sometimes and along with being part of your "clean up crew" can eat clams and sometimes some corals. i just bought a rock that is loaded with them and im po'd about it as i have a flame scallop that i have had for quite while despite the theory that they dont do well in captivity and to be honest they creep me out. i dont like em!!!
