RO/DI and low temperatures

If I've got my ro/di unit sitting outside making some water for me, at what temp will the membrane get damaged? I've read to avoid "freezing temperatures", but does that literally mean 32 or below?

i make mine outside also when i can. not sure but i bring mine in if it gets below 40 just in case. don`t want to ruin membrane. use it outside in summer all the time in covered carport/shed

Trick of the trade - take a 2.5 or 5 gallon bucket and fill it with water. Get 25-30 ft of tubing from your hookup tap into the rodi unit. Drop in a heater and sink that tubing coiled up into the bucket. It will heat your water to around 80 degrees and maximize your production of your rodi water.

That's a great tip... but I wonder if the electricity spent on the heater isn't more costly than the water you are saving.
