Tangs only grazing
Question.. I brought home a couple tangs (powder blue and hippo). Neither are taking to Nori, but both are grazing all day long on the rocks. I do have a decent amount of hair algae which I am working on clearing up right now. Is grazing enough to sustain the fish? Ive left Nori in the tank for hours but they dont take any interest in it at all.
What do you guys think? |

How did you introduce the Nori? I've found that my tangs will only eat Nori if it's rolled up really tight and rubberbanded to a rock/magnet. If it's just a flat sheet, they won't touch it.

Well I have a small piece (2x2) on the clip and I have a 4x2 attached to the rock with a rubber band. I havent tried rolling it or layering it like you have said.. Ill give that a shot tomorrow

The grazing should be beneficial to both the tangs and help clean up your algae problem. In the wild they graze all day on the rocks.
They should also eat mysis, flake, pellet, etc in addition to the grazing. When the rocks are picked clean they will prob take the Nori.. the rocks are just a more natural source right now.
