Sick Carpet Anemone? Help needed!
Hey guys. I'm concerned over the appearance of the carpet anemone.
Its mouth is open and seems very deflated. It's also not taking food and isn’t sticky ... I have taken suggestions and have moved him higher up to the lights where I will let him be. It has however been close to 24 hours that he has been in the tank. A clown pair have taken to hosting in the carpet: will this causes added stress? Any suggestions ? All parameters are fine... |

The rocks is the right place for S. Gigantea. This anemone is very difficult. Often if they are sick, and quit eating there is nothing you can do.

Hmm, I hope this isn't against the rules, but thought i would mention there is a neat article in this quarter's reef hobbyist magazine about carpet anenomes. I was reading through it at BayMac the other day and it had a lot of very interesting info. If you can get a copy it might be helpful.

I guess I will ask the question. What type of lights do you have it under? And what are you using for flow in your tank? You also stated "It has however been close to 24 hours that he has been in the tank." If its new to your tank it can just be getting use to it.

OP was 3 months ago. If it's not doing better by now it's probably no longer in his tank.
did it make it? |
