IMO, a Hippo and a "powder brown" (( nigricans or japonicus )) both are going to get too big for your frag tanks.

I wouldn't keep an Achilles in a 140, and same goes for the clown tang. Both will get too big, and the clown will get way too mean.

Without looking too much at the list I went straight for the tangs. Between the hippo and powder brown tangs, neither will fit in your 40 or 55 gallon frag tanks. Supposing the 55 is sparsely stocked with rock with ample swimming room, you might be able to get away with a yellow or scopas tang; though some will tell you otherwise.

As for those tangs you'd like to keep in the 140, I'd recommend against the Achilles (assuming a 140 is not longer than 6' in length). Achilles are wildly active, and require more space than you can provide; this is a great thread on them: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=1492655

The clown and the purple may get along, but both are very aggressive. Replacing the clown with a hippo would be the way to go; so long as you introduced a purple of smaller size after the hippo is established.

I would lose to rabbitfish, the hippo, the clown, the achilles and one of the triggers. Assuming you get everything else you could probably fit a couple other smaller fish in the mix, but IMO what you have listed is just to many large fish for a 140. That looks like a stocklist for a 280 or larger.

I would definitely take out alot of the big fish you have listed. No clown tang, no achilles.

Powder brown, or hippo one or the other not both in the 140.

Same with the triggers, I would only add the triggers if you didnt add any other big fish at all.

I would put the hippo tang, purple tang, foxface, anthias, in the 140, then divide up the smaller fish you like into the frag tanks. The mandarin I would add to the 140 only if it has been up and running for quite some time (well over 6 months).

Both frag tanks are too small for tangs. The Achilles' is a very difficult tang to keep. If you're getting those two triggers, you can have maybe one tang in your tank reasonably.

I'd say:
No Hippo Tang
No Clown Tang
Powder Brown in main tank
No Purple Tang
No Achilles Tang

100% agree to all posted. Maybe keep the hippo and purple in the 140, but not in the frag tanks.

I might add two royal-gramma-sized fish to that system, but not any more. A yellow or kole tang might be okay, if you want a larger fish.

I love the Lunar Wrasse, had many and all are total pigs and bullies, very buetiful and intelligent, when mature, more than a handfull. when placed with the anthia's and all those tangs in that small of a tank, you may need to rethink...feeding time will be a nightmare.
