I've always had great experience with Bulk Reef Supply's Two Part Recipe 1. It will raise your ph, but it brings your Mag, Calcium, and ALk up to where it should be. Since you're already in the 8's for pH, you can counteract any pH increase by using white distilled vinegar to bring it back down. (check reefkeeping magazine for a guide on this before you just toss a bunch of it in your tank though)

I agree that a 2-part is a good way to get started. I use the DIY approach, but the commercial products seem to be fine, although more expensive.

The tank size has a lot to do with your choice, what size is your tank?

I too, would suggest Randys DIY two part I have been using it for years and has worked great.
I would avoid adding any vinegar to your tank. What are you using to test pH? If you are using a titration(drop by drop) kit to measure, they are not very reliable. Good luck, and what ever you do, just make sure you go slow and make small adjustments.

Your tank is ideally sized for a meaningful kalk system. Just topoff with kalk water once you have dosed your levels up to what you want, and kalk will hold your levels steady until the kalk runs out.
