Anyone know what this fish is?

Hoping somebody can id this fish for me. Sorry the pictures are so bad .... just put him in the qt tank with some awfully stirred up gulf water! Trying to determine if he is going to be safe to put into a mixed reef tank or not.

I think you're right .... just did some research and came up with an id of Gulf Hake. Don't think he's going in the tank .... will return him to his happy home instead!

What was the small fish beneath him in the third picture? What part of the gulf are you collecting from?
