Question Enough Flow?

My tank is 280 gallons...8feet long....x 28deep x 24 high......

How many gph flow do you recommend I go with to have a completely
mixed reef including Softies, LPS, SPS etc......

How much flow do I require....

I have dart and barracuda....Do you think it is enough?

My guess is that will give me 6-7thousand after head loss and angles in the piping.....

I am thinking that I need to double it....

Am I right?

Your opinion/comments/input welcome.

Thanks,
Much appreciated,

Tim

Do you realize how large a barracuda will get? Have you researched them?

I would start at around 11000 gph from all sources combined and i'm sure you will have to make adjustments from there. Many people run much higher then that even but It may be challenging for you with the mixed Reef.

I think he's referring to a Reeflo Barracuda pump for a closed loop system.

barracuda PUMP yes.....

thats a barracuda *pump* yes....hehe

Playa...thats exactly what I was thinking...so in other words I have
just over 1/2 the flow that I really need......

Anxious to see what others think also...but that is what I was thinking....

It surprises me....but I knowwwwwwww that I do not have enough flow....

Wow....lots of flow required for a tank this size..amazing even.

thanks everyone so far.

Tim
