Do you have adequate calcium and lighting? If it has been 2 months then it should be coming very soon, if proper conditions are met of course.

welcome to rc. I did not start growing it for months either. Enjoy the tank because, before long it will be off to college.

someone had suggested to me to lightly brush the coraline with a toothbrush, to help seed the other rocks that didn't have it twice a week. Haven't gotten that far yet though.

Patience is the key to this topic and most other reef related issues.....
Get your Alk/Ca/Mg in the right levels and start getting a system down for testing, topping off, water changes, equipment checks.....concentrate on this and it will provide the results you are after as well as benifet you for a long time to come.

It wouldn't bother me if I never had coraline. Scraping the tank every week is a major chore if you ask me. Eventually every healthy tank will get covered in it. Patience...

There are different shades of coralline that are a product the enviroment...the lime green growth is more than likely another form of algae in the maturity process of the tank. It will soon go away or be consumed by fish or the CUC.
The time length, as the originator asked is dependent on the tank and if the building blocks are available. Corralline is a type of calcifying algae that uses trace elements as well as Mg/Ca/Alk in decent quanties...which will cause them to drop and get you used to recognizing this consumption.....which is far more important to understand....before too large of drops effect the health of livestock when they are introduced.....so use the time to practice for the big game. It is also dependent on light.....as well as extreme temperatures which can bleach it. but I can't stress enough to learn this patience thing as a major building block to your later successes.....or failures...... Sorry to be all cryptic and vague, and Yoda sounding....but it just takes time.....
