20g long sump won't fit in stand

I bought a 20g long aquarium to use for my sump/refugium. The problem is it won't fit in the doors in the front of the stand. The 75g tank on the stand is up and running already, so I was wondering if I could remove the brace between the doors without the tank coming crashing down. Or if someone had a good idea on how to brace the stand so I can remove the front brace.

I would avoid removing the brace. You might be able to reinforce the stand somehow to make that possible. The DIY forum might be a good place to ask.

Would help to see a pic of the stand or how it is made. If your running 2x4 uprights with a 2x6 cross the top it will hold the weight no prob.

Have you considered removing the side panel and sliding it in that way?
If you do remove the center brace I would put something else spanning the front to reinforce what is already there.

Here's how Melev did it. Scroll down a few frames to see the bracing.

You dont need to get as fancy as melev. Drain yuor tank down (do during a wc) prop the top and remove the center brace. When I was putting my sump in it knocked the support out of the way nothing happened. The last time I didnt even support it. I just drained it, and removed it.

I did mine like melev and it worked out great, though it was very nerve wracking!
