Can a Mandarin Get Velvet?
So, 8 weeks ago, my tank got wiped out by tiny white spots on my fish (super tiny, on the body and fins) over a period of what seemed like 3-5 days. since then my tank has been fallow for 6-8 weeks and I thought I would first introduce the reportedly "ich resistant" Red Mandarin. It has been in there for 24 hours now and; though it is hiding, I think I saw some white powder on it.
Now I may be just paranoid --perhaps it's just rock crud falling on it, but I am feeling a bit worried about it. Are they velvet resistant/proof? Has anybody had a Mandarin with Ich or Velvet?

Mandarins have a slime type coating. I have noticed in the past small almost impossible to see grains of sand will stick to them at times.
