Id help!!
Im trying two identify two different things in my tank. i have attached two pictures. In one of the pictures, you will notice some red stuff on a live rock. It is not slimy, not fuzzy looking, but instead looks like candle wax was dripped on the rock.
In the second picture, you will notice a small green, grass looking thing on the rock (middle of frame.) When i first noticed it, it literallylooked like it was a piece of grass growing out of the rock. Now it look like there are some small offshoots that almost like tentacles (kinda.) Any ideas? |

Both pics need to be better for a positive id. The first appears to be just normal stuff that grows on the LR. The second is likely some sort of macroalgae which hasnt developed unough for a positive id. Sorry I cant be of more help. Can you get some closer more in focus shots? The first I would nt be too concerned with based on what I can see, the second might be worth keeping an eye on and possibly just removing before it becomes an issue. Some macroalgae, caulerpa's in particular tend to be difficult to erradicate from the display once they've become established.

first one looks like coraline from your picture. The second *could* be invasive macro algae. You may want to try the plant forum for an ID it could be harmless, but if it was in my tank, I'd remove it now while it's managable
