Worm id?

I was passing by my tank this afternoon and noticed something on the front glass near the top of the tank. It was some sort of worm about 6" long and about 1/8" wide. It was white and had a black stripe down its back with black vertical bars wrapping around it. By the time I got my camera it had fell off the glass and floated to the sand in the back where it immediately buried itself. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a shot of it.

Any ideas?

little tough without pics, but check out a place like www.chucksaddiction.com for Eunicid worms. It sounds like that is what you have. If you see him again, remove him to the sump until you can get a positive Id.

Chiefsurfer - After looking at that site and other, think it may be a ribbon worms - Nemertea sp.

Have to try to catch next time it appears.
