You could use the phoenix 14K....I just put one in my 250W lamp and I like the color far better than my old 20K XM bulb

i dont think the light spectrum has as much to do with growth as water quality, i run 20k hallides(3) and my growth is pretty quick,, and yes i had a 10k 250w before

ide personally go with pheonix 14k bulbs. When I was running them before my t5's, i didnt even need any supplemental lighting. The color was perfect! Give em a shot.

20k reeflux if you have an electronic ballast. A nice crisp bright white.

The double ended XMs are a joke when it comes to PAR and spectrum.. the SEs are a very different animal, but even then they don't boast that high of PAR.

I am running a 20k Plusrite now as a replacement for a 15k. I have better growth on my SPS, but the softys are affected. I have a few acros and slimmers and polyps extension is really nice. My Kenya tree used to double in height, now is just extending.

hope it helps,
Marian

Here's my growth, which I' am using two XM 20k SE bulbs with the addition of 2 55 watt power PC's.

My softies grow like weeds and my few SPS's grow on the slow side.

As for the color, I love the blue ripple effect in my tank.
